FAQ

COVID-19

Given current events, you should plan ahead in case anyone on your team contracts COVID-19, so that you can still attend the market (i.e. having additional staff in case someone is sick or caring for a sick person) as we do not offer refunds and expect makers to have planned ahead.

You may not come to the market if you have been exposed to, have or exhibit COVID-19 symptoms and if you do, you must wait until you have doctor’s note saying you are safe to attend. You are expected to have backup help that has been exposed in the case of contracting COVID-19.

To keep you safe:
EVERYONE including staff, makers and attendees will be temperature checked at the door and masks will be required. Sanitizing stations will be throughout the facility.

You are responsible for ensuring social distancing and safe practices within your own cottage. We highly suggest that Makers clean their spaces throughout the day, have plexiglass barriers at checkout and must work within CDC guidelines for food, sampling and “smell” tests (for candles).

WHO IS CREATING SNOWCAT RIDGE AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING FOR MARKETING?

Snowcat Ridge is the latest project by Point Summit the company behind Scream-a-Geddon, Indy Scream Park, White River Paintball and TreeHoppers located in Dade City, FL and Anderson, IN.

Point Summit produces multi-million dollar facilities and hires the top of the top experts in marketing to promote their attractions.

In recent years, the Indy Scream Park attraction has drawn 40-50k attendees annually over the past 11 years and Scream-a-Geddon the same, over the past 5 years. These parks are only open nights and weekends.

The full marketing roll out for Snowcat Ridge will launch mid October and will feature the Alpine Village Holiday Market.

The full marketing plan will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars across radio, tv, high trafficked billboards across the Tampa Bay and digital advertising across Google, Instagram, Facebook and more.

WHERE IS THE PARK LOCATED?

30 minutes north of Tampa:

27839 Saint Joe Road
Dade City, FL 33525

ARE FOOD AND DRINK VENDORS ALLOWED?

Snowcat Ridge will have a full concessions, kettle corn, bar and drinks portion of the village. This means that any competing food and beverage makers will not be allowed into the market.

What IS acceptable are prepackaged foods that giftable and are not normally consumed on the spot, like chocolates, jams, dips, spices, bars, mixers, honeys, sauces, etc.

WHAT HOURS ARE THE MARKET?

FULL DAYS – The facility is open from 9am-11:00pm and we ask makers to be present during peak hours. Makers are required to be fully set up and selling 11:00am-9:00pm but may come the full time the facility is open. Finalized hours will be in your information packs once accepted.

HALF DAYS – The facility is open from 3:00pm-11:00pm and we require makers to be fully set up and selling 5:00pm-9:00pm. Finalized hours will be in your information packs once accepted.

Please note, we as a group would like all makers to be present during peak hours so that the market feels full and sales are ample for all makers. You are paying for this booth so we encourage you to come as much as you can, but understand that a 14-hour day is a long day!

Attendees will arrive with a 2 hour ski lift pass at the beginning of the day, and so the first hour or two may be a bit slower with attendees picking up as the day goes on. The facility is currently allowed to accept 500 attendees in every hour.

Makers are not allowed to set up, tear down or bring merchandise in and out of the facility during open hours. Makers may quietly open or close their cottage and slip out as needed, but no carts will be allowed during open hours.

Restocking may be done daily during hours the facility is not open to the public. Makers may come 30 minutes before the park opens with new products.

Set up hours:
Season Long Makers: Set up will be days before opening.
Weekly Makers: Thursday morning 3 hours before opening.
Weekend Only Makers: Saturday mornings from 6am-8:30am.
Makers must be fully loaded in and set up 30 minutes before opening.

WILL MAKERS HAVE DESIGNATED PARKING AND ENTRANCE?

All makers will have a free parking pass, and those makers that arrive to the facility 30+ minutes before opening will be allowed to park in the staff parking area. Those makers that arrive during the open hours of the market, will show their passes for free parking and will park in the general parking lots.

Makers will be allowed to enter through the staff entrance where they will be temperature checked daily and masks will be required to enter the facility for our Makers.

WHAT WILL THE VILLAGE LOOK LIKE AND MY SPACE INCLUDE?

The village will be comprised of 10’x10′ white high-peaked high-quality permanent tents (not pop up tents) that will be provided. Tables and chairs will not be provided as we allow for makers to fully customize their spaces.

A similar look can be seen in past years of the Philadelphia Holiday Market. These tents are commercial grade and will be fully secured to the ground.

ELECTRICITY:
All booths come with basic electricity that can power LED lights and cellphones, if you have extra needs beyond a regular 12v plug and draw a lot of power, you MUST get this cleared by our team ahead of time and put this on your application.

CAN I LEAVE MY ITEMS OVERNIGHT?

Each tent will have 4 solid paned tent walls so that a maker can secure their booth overnight.

Our team will have overnight security each night but we are not liable for items in your booth so please take care to secure your items in bins or locked in chests overnight as well as close your booth up fully.

We highly suggest that makers keep their displays overnight and valuables taken home each night.

Please note makers are not allowed to bring in products during facility open hours.

ARE FEES REFUNDABLE?

We do not issue any refunds or credits unless the facility is closed due to COVID regulations.

We highly suggest you check out Event Helper and consider business, weather and event insurance as they help cover your costs in case of emergency or natural disaster. The slopes will close for one hour if there is lightning but the park will remain open. Our team is here to help with any documentation your insurance may need in case of an unforeseen event.

In the unlikely event the market is cancelled due to COVID regulations shutting down the facility we will credit makers $100 a day up to their booth amount. If the entire week is cancelled we will refund the booth fee.

As a separate note, in the case that you have to cancel or simply cannot attend please email snowcat@marketsformakers.com as soon as possible. Day-of cancellations and no shows without any communication can affect future acceptances and can result in being removed from future weeks of the Snowcat Market you have already been accepted to.
